Ravens Announce New Linebackers Coach

The Baltimore Ravens are pushing forward with their offseason plans, making strategic moves to strengthen their coaching staff under John Harbaugh’s leadership.

To that end, they reportedly are making a promotion on the defensive staff.

“Ravens promoting Matt Robinson to outside linebackers coach, per league source. Rising young assistant who grew up in Columbia, [Maryland], worked with defensive line and outside linebackers last season, on staff since 2021. Former [Maryland] linebacker-defensive back,” Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston wrote on X.

The promotion showcases the Ravens’ philosophy of nurturing talent from within.

Robinson’s ascent through their coaching ranks has been impressive.

The 2024 campaign was his fourth season with the organization, serving as the assistant defensive line/outside linebackers coach.

His journey with the team began as a coaching fellow in 2021, followed by work with the secondary in 2022, before moving to a quality control position focusing on the defensive front in 2023.

Prior to joining the Ravens, Robinson honed his coaching skills at the collegiate level, spending four years at Maryland and UConn. This promotion not only recognizes Robinson’s growing expertise but also signals the Ravens’ dedication to maintaining stability as they prepare for the upcoming season.
