Things won’t be easy for the Steelers in their second straight daunting road matchup.
The outcome of the AFC North could be decided in Week 16 if Pittsburgh finds a way to win in Baltimore. The Steelers got embarrassed last week against the Eagles, so the Ravens will likely see the best version of Mike Tomlin’s club. It should be a classic divisional battle between these two. It seems like no matter how each club is playing going into these matchups, they play a close football game.
A lot of this prediction could be swayed by whether the Steelers will produce a healthier lineup than last week. If T.J. Watt and George Pickens are fully healthy, then it could help sway picks in Pittsburgh’s favor. If neither of those two is healthy enough to have an impact on the contest, then it is hard not to imagine Lamar Jackson and company taking care of business.
Fans would love a bounce-back performance from The Black and Gold. It won’t be easy, but the pressure is off of them after winning the first meeting. You should expect a close game that comes down to the wire.
These two units have found ways to make every yard count. The Ravens have made it a habit to find ways to lose against their hated foes, but it could be different this time.
Pittsburgh vs. Baltimore Week 16 prediction: Steelers 20, Ravens 24
When you look over the Steeler’s schedule and predict every game before the year starts, most assume they will split with the Ravens. That has not happened in recent seasons as Pittsburgh has been able to win each time since 2022. Even though many might think the Steelers should be favored, that doesn’t mean the Ravens couldn’t end this ongoing streak.
Jackson is still playing great. You can tell he is getting more comfortable with throwing the football this year. That affected him in a negative way last time around. He was always looking to throw the ball downfield rather than run upfield and take the easy yards that were exposed to him. Don’t expect the Steelers to get away with that in this game.
Russell Wilson and Pittsburgh’s offense was lackluster against an up-and-down Baltimore defense the last time these two faced off. They need to get the ball downfield and challenge the Raven’s secondary. If Pickens is good enough to have an impact, then that should be huge. Running the ball against the Ravens will be the ultimate chore for the offensive line.
It should be a close game, but it is hard to imagine the Ravens dropping two games against the Steelers. Both clubs are pretty similar in their play style, and we will see which coach budges in their game plan first. If Baltimore can have effective runs from both Derrick Henry and Jackson, then their passing game will be too much for Pittsburgh to handle. A late touchdown takes out the Steelers.
