Louisiana authorities have released a new photo showing female suspect Danette Colbert with reporter Adan Manzano hours before he was found dead in his hotel room.
Manzano, who worked for KGKC Telemundo Kansas City, had traveled to New Orleans to cover the Chiefs’ Super Bowl week but sadly passed away before the big game. Colbert was arrested after she was caught using his credit cards at stores around the city.
The suspect has a history of targeting and drugging tourists before stealing from them. She has been arrested and charged for such offenses in the past.
Kenner Police Chief Kieth Conley discussed the evidence in an interview this week after his department released a photo of Colbert with Manzano, having obtained surveillance footage of them walking into his hotel room which also shows her exiting the room alone.

“It kind of lights a fire and confirms some suspicions, but I will tell you we will see where the evidence leads us,” Conley said.
Danette Colbert Had Adan Manzano’s Phone When She Was Arrested
The Police chief also revealed that three phones were found on Colbert during her arrest, one of them belonging to Manzano. He added that his department is working with the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office, Louisiana State Police, the New Orleans Police Department, and Project NOLA, with the latter helping them track the suspect’s movements over the past 30 days.
“We often do this using facial recognition, clothing recognition, vehicle recognition, license plate recognition,” Project NOLA’s Bryan Legarde explained. “We often do this to get what detectives need to close cases.”
Kenner police are waiting on the results of an autopsy and a toxicology test.
In the meantime, Colbert has been charged with bank fraud, computer fraud, illegal transmission of monetary funds, access device fraud, and purse snatching.
It’s likely that more serious charges could come down once the police receive the aforementioned results.
Adan Manzano leaves behind a young daughter, having lost his wife to a tragic accident last year.
