
Randi Mahomes took a trip down memory lane and revealed the heartwarming gift she made for her son, Patrick Mahomes, during his college days at Texas Tech.
Long before he became the face of the NFL, Patrick Mahomes was a polarizing prospect for the Texas Tech Red Raiders under head coach Kliff Kingsbury. Mahomes also played on the school’s baseball team and was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in 2014, though the future Kansas City Chiefs star decided to pursue a football career.
On her Instagram page, Randi Mahomes showed off the incredible gift she made for her son while he was at Texas Tech. Randi collected every sports jersey Mahomes had in his youth playing days and turned it into a quilt.
Randi said she eventually took the quilt back out of fear that Patrick would lose it, though she’s pondering giving it back to him one day:

Patrick Mahomes was a three-sport athlete at Whitehouse High School in Texas, excelling in baseball, football and basketball. His father, Pat Mahomes Sr., was an MLB pitcher who spent 11 seasons in the pros (1992 to 2003), mainly as a reliever.
Mahomes Sr. went 42-39 with a 5.47 ERA and 452 strikeouts in 709 innings pitched. He had his best season in 1999, posting an 8-0 record with a 3.68 ERA and 51 strikeouts in 63.2 innings pitched.
