What do you think Packers receiver Jayden Reed does in Green Bay when he isn’t catching Jordan Love touchdown passes in front of 77,000 at Lambeau Field?
Not much, according to him.
“Really bro, I just be on the game. It ain’t nothing else to do,” Reed said when he joined the “St. Brown Podcast.” The show is hosted by brothers and NFL players Equanimeous St. Brown, former Packers receiver now on the New Orleans Saints, and Amon-Ra St. Brown, Detroit Lions receiver.
When asked about how he spends his free time in Green Bay, Reed said he’s usually playing video games, hanging out with his girlfriend, watching film, and sometimes catching a movie. He also revealed he’s never been to any on the Oneida Casinos in the area.
During the podcast, Reed did share some things about him that fans may not have known.
He’s a former Bears fan
This may be a given, but the Chicago native grew up a Bears fan. For obvious reasons, that is no longer the case. When Amon-Ra mentioned that deep down, Reed was still a Bears fan, Reed proceeded to show off a game ball he received from the Packers victory over the Bears on Jan. 7. Reed had four catches for 112 yards in a game where Green Bay clinched a playoff spot.
Green Bay is a place where players decide to settle down
Equanimous said players who move to Green Bay tend to get in a relationship once they arrive. “As soon as guys move to Green Bay, if they’re single, they get a girlfriend. If they’re in a relationship, they get engaged/married quick,” he said.
Reed doubled down on that statement. “They force you to do it, there’s nothing to do out here.”
Packers quarterback Jordan Love was used as an example in this theory, as he got engaged to girlfriend Ronika Stone during the offseason.
Jordan Love is the best player Reed has played with
Reed named Love as the best player he’s played with in his football career.
Amon-Ra said that was a smart answer, to which Reed replied, “It ain’t even smart, it’s facts.”
In his NFL career, Reed has 91 catches with 11 touchdowns and over 1,200 yards.
He was surprised was drafted by Green Bay
Reed revealed that he rarely spoke to the Packers during the pre-draft process. “I probably had a meeting with them once on Zoom, and that was it. I was really surprised,” he said.
He did say it was a blessing, as Green Bay is only three hours away from his hometown.
Reed also mentioned that he spoke to now division rival Detroit Lions more than any team during the pre-draft process.
His welcome to the league moment …
When the Packers took on the Los Angeles Chargers Nov. 19, 2023, at Lambeau Field, Reed took a hit from linebacker Khalil Mack, which cracked a rib. Reed still scored a touchdown later in the game, but noticed when doing the Lambeau Leap that something felt off in his body.
