Packers coach Matt LaFleur provides injury updates

Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur provided injury updates on several players coming out of Sunday night’s win over the Seattle Seahawks. The Packers don’t practice officially this week until Thursday with a Monday night game coming up against the New Orleans Saints in Week 16, so the first injury report of the week is still two days out.

On linebacker Quay Walker, who injured his ankle in Seattle and missed the second half: “We’ll give him through the week to see where he’s at, but I’d say it’s more of a week-to-week type deal.” LaFleur said something similar on defensive back Javon Bullard last week, and he missed the win in Seattle. Edgerrin Cooper, Eric Wilson and Isaiah McDuffie would handle the majority of the snaps at linebacker if Walker can’t play against the Saints.

On Bullard, who injured his ankle in Detroit and didn’t play last week: “We’ll see. We have to get him out there on the practice field and see how he’s moving around. He’s definitely moving around the facility better, but that doesn’t mean you can go out and play a football game.” Without Bullard, the Packers used Keisean Nixon in the slot against the Seahawks.

On Jordan Love, who appeared to be limping or in pain following an off-schedule play in the second half: “He should be alright. He got a shot (hit) to his thigh or something.” Love didn’t miss any snaps to end the game. LaFleur didn’t expect any limitations this week.

The Packers could return running back MarShawn Lloyd from the non-football illness list this week. Tight end Luke Musgrave is designated to return from injured reserve — he practiced in a limited capacity last week and could be activated at any time.

The Saints are dealing with several big injuries. Quarterback Derek Carr is not expected to play, and running back Alvin Kamara has a groin injury coming out of Sunday’s loss to the Washington Commanders. The Saints won’t have receiver Chris Olave, tight end Taysom Hill, cornerback Paulson Adebo or receiver Rashid Shaheed, who are all on injured reserve.
