Kyle Hamilton makes bold claim about Ravens’ pursuit of Super Bowl

Kyle Hamilton injury update: Ravens star sprains ankle vs Bengals

Shortly after the Baltimore Ravens fell to the Buffalo Bills in the divisional round of the playoffs last month, Ravens fullback Patrick Ricard generated headlines when he said that it is “inevitable” that quarterback Lamar Jackson is “going to win a Super Bowl.”

During a recent appearance on “The Mina Kimes Show,” Ravens safety Kyle Hamilton touched upon Baltimore’s pursuit of a championship.

“I’ve had so many people ask me what the Ravens are missing. I’m like, literally nothing,” Hamilton explained, Kevin Eck of the team’s website shared. “We have everything you want to win a championship. It’s just we haven’t been playing well when we got to the point that we need to win. There’s no excuses for that. It’s just offense, defense, special teams, we have to do better.”

Baltimore entered the playoffs as the AFC North champions, having notched a record of 12-5 and won its final four games of the regular season. Understandably, Hamilton and others within the Ravens are still wondering what could have been, considering Baltimore was largely its own worst enemy at Buffalo’s Highmark Stadium on Jan. 19.

Specifically, Jackson tossed an awful interception in the contest’s first quarter and later committed a costly fumble that resulted in Buffalo scoring a touchdown. In the game’s fourth quarter, star tight end Mark Andrews lost a fumble near midfield and then dropped a pass that should’ve resulted in Baltimore tying things up with 1:33 remaining in regulation.

The Ravens ultimately fell to the Bills, 27-25. That loss dropped Jackson to 3-5 as a postseason starter.

“On this Bills game, we had a couple turnovers, our defense didn’t start well. Offense came out and scored on the first drive and we gave up a touchdown right back,” Hamilton added about what occurred in Buffalo. “We don’t want it to fall on our offense to have to go down and score; we want it to be on the defense to get that stop and win the game for us. Both sides of the ball, obviously, it’s going to be a tough offseason to have to live with that. But we have another year and hopefully [will] right that wrong.”

As of Thursday afternoon, DraftKings Sportsbook had the Ravens third among the betting favorites at +425 odds to represent the AFC in Super Bowl LX next February.
