Kansas City Chiefs fans are already convinced that their Week 16 home game vs. the Houston Texans has already been “rigged” against them.
The 13-1 Kansas City Chiefs will inch a step closer to the AFC’s top seed and first-round bye with a victory over the Texans. However, there’s a good possibility they’ll be without star quarterback Patrick Mahomes as he recovers from an ankle sprain.
Although the game is still three days away, Chiefs fans are already complaining that the league may “fix” it in Houston’s favor. The reason? Veteran NFL official Carl Cheffers will be the referee in this game.

Cheffers was the referee in Super Bowl 55, when the Kansas City Chiefs fell to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a lopsided affair. Two years later, Cheffers and his crew made the controversial holding penalty call against James Bradberry that helped Kansas City defeat the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 57.
