Eagles Sign Kendall Lamm to a 1-Year Deal to Bolster Offensive Line Depth

Philadelphia, PA – March 25, 2025, 01:00 PM PDT
The Philadelphia Eagles have signed veteran offensive tackle Kendall Lamm to a 1-year deal, sources confirmed Monday, adding depth to their offensive line as they prepare to defend their Super Bowl LIX title. The move comes as the Eagles look to reinforce their roster following the departures of Fred Johnson to the Jacksonville Jaguars and Mekhi Becton to the Los Angeles Chargers earlier this offseason (web ID: 0, 1).

Lamm, 32, brings a wealth of experience to Philadelphia, having played 119 games with 44 starts across 10 NFL seasons with the Texans, Browns, Titans, and most recently, the Miami Dolphins. In 2024, Lamm appeared in 15 games for the Dolphins, starting 7 at right tackle, and excelled in pass protection with a Pro Football Focus (PFF) pass blocking grade of 83.1—ranking 10th among 141 offensive tackles. He allowed zero sacks in 336 pass blocking snaps, including a streak of 48 consecutive snaps without allowing pressure in Week 14. However, his run blocking grade of 53.7 (109th among OTs) highlights a weaker area of his game (web ID: 0).

The signing addresses a need for a reliable swing tackle to back up Lane Johnson and Jordan Mailata, the Eagles’ starting right and left tackles. Johnson, 34, recently restructured his contract to remain with the team through 2027, while Mailata continues to anchor the left side. Lamm’s versatility—he played 441 snaps at right tackle and 70 at left tackle in 2024—makes him a valuable insurance policy, especially after he underwent back surgery in January following a season-ending injury with the Dolphins (web ID: 0, 3).
