Eagles DE's message to teammate goes viral for great reason

Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Zack Baun was rewarded on Wednesday for an outstanding season, and at least one of his teammates saw it coming.

The Eagles on Wednesday re-signed Baun to a three-year, $51M contract. Baun is now one of the highest-paid linebackers in football.

Brandon Graham had a feeling Baun was going to get his money from the Eagles. Graham, who has been with Philadelphia for his entire 15-year career, told Baun as much while the two were celebrating together after Super Bowl LIX last month.

Following the Eagles’ 40-22 win over the Kansas City Chiefs, Graham and Baun had a great exchange. Graham told Baun to “go get paid” but said he was confident his teammate would get a new deal from Philly.

“Aye, go get paid, boy. I know it’s gonna be here, though,” Graham told Baun. “They ain’t going nowhere. They’d get on Howie a– if they don’t.”

Graham was referring to Eagles general manager Howie Roseman. His point was likely that coaches, players, fans or all of the above would be angry with Roseman if Philadelphia did not re-sign Baun.

Baun joined the Eagles on a one-year deal ahead of 2024 after spending his first four seasons with the New Orleans Saints. He had a breakout campaign in Philadelphia with 151 total tackles, 3.5 sacks and five forced fumbles, all of which were career-high marks. Baun made the Pro Bowl for the first time in his career.

The 28-year-old Baun was arguably even better in the playoffs, when he had 33 tackles and two interceptions.

Baun’s teammates are certainly glad he is sticking around.
