A.J. Brown injury updates: Eagles WR leaves Steelers game with leg injury

The PHiladelphia Eagles got their passing game back on track against the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday, with Jalen Hurts and A.J. Brown connecting multiple times on the afternoon.

But it may have come at a cost.

Brown limped off the field late in the game against the Steelers, suffering an apparently leg injury on an awkward tackle after a long catch-and-run play.

As noted, the tackle from Pittsburgh cornerback James Pierre looks like a textbook “hip-drop” tackle, which the league has begun to penalize. However, a flag did not follow on this play.

The receiver was being evaluated by trainers as the rest of the Eagles offense ran out the clock:

Brown caught 8 passes for 110 yards and a touchdown in Philadelphia’s 27-13 win over the Steelers. The uptick in performance from the passing game comes at the end of a week that saw questions raised in Philadelphia about the success of the team’s passing game, and the relationship between Hurts and Brown.
