Bills to be featured on Hallmark movie later this year

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — There will soon be a Buffalo Bills-themed holiday Hallmark Channel movie.

The movie, called “A Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story,” has been selected as the NFL ‘Countdown to Christmas’ movie this year.

Bills safety Damar Hamlin announced the movie on Today on NBC on Thursday morning.

“We’re so excited to celebrate our team, our fans and shoutout to Bills Mafia and our shared move for football and Hallmark Christmas movies. Go Bills. Let’s go,” Hamlin said.

The Bills are the second NFL team to have a Hallmark movie themed after them in recent memory. “A Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story,” a romantic comedy themed around the Kansas City Chiefs, was released last November. Several Chiefs, including Mecole Hardman, Clyde Edwards-Helaire and head coach Andy Reid all made appearances.

It also comes as a Hallmark movie is currently being filmed in Western New York. “Newport Christmas” is being filmed through April 4 in both Buffalo and Youngstown.

Details about the plot, which Bills will make cameos, or when exactly the movie will first air, have not yet been released.
