Packers star gifting fan and Marine Corps veteran with Super Bowl tickets

While the Packers season may be over, one diehard fan and longtime service member is getting a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity courtesy of a current Packers star.

Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs posted on his social media account that he teamed up with USAA, the NFL’s Salute to Service Partner and the Marine Corps Association to send Sergeant Major of the Mariner Corps (SMMC) Kevin Bennett and his wife to New Orleans for Super Bowl LIX.

SMMC Bennett and his wife will get to meet Jacobs and multiple other NFL players in person before the game, as USAA is doing similar with numerous other NFL players.

Sergeant Major Kevin Bennett served 34 years in the U.S. Marine Corps, from 1971-to-2004. His career saw him go all over the planet, with deployments in Japan, Korea, the Philippines, Panama, Norway and the Middle East during Operation Desert Storm.

SMMC Bennett lives in Virginia with his wife, Ivette, who he’s been with for over 30 years, while cheering on his beloved Green Bay Packers, who he’s rooted for since 1962.

In a release, Jacobs said that connecting with Packers fans was one of the major highlights in his first season in Green Bay adding that being in a family of service members gave him extra motivation to invite SMMC Kevin Bennett.

“I’m grateful to continue working with USAA to recognize the true heroes in our country who deserve a once-in-a-lifetime trip to the Super Bowl,” Jacobs said. “This is just one small way I can say thank you to Kevin and the Marine Corps Association for all they have done for us.”
