The Kansas City Chiefs will make their first playoff appearance in the Divisional Round this week as they host the Houston Texans at Arrowhead Stadium.
It’s typically pretty chilly around this time in Kansas City, but the Texans may be getting lucky with the weather on Saturday.
Weather forecast for Chiefs vs Texans Divisional Round
While it will still definitely be a cold day in KC, it looks like the Texans at least won’t have to deal with snow, rain, or super low temperatures.
The game kicks off this Saturday, January 18 at 3:30 p.m. CT (4:30 p.m. ET) and by that time, the weather is expected to be around 30 degrees Fahrenheit with just a 10% chance of precipitation.
The last time the Chiefs and Texans met in Kansas City on December 21, the weather was similar – around 35 degrees with clear skies. When the Buffalo Bills played at Arrowhead Stadium in the Divisional Round last year, they weren’t so lucky, as temps were hovering around 23 degrees (albeit the Bills are much more accustomed to that kind of weather). At this time in 2019, it was a snow bowl in Kansas City.

The Texans beat the Los Angeles Chargers 32-12 in the Wild Card Round to advance to the Divisional, where they’ll face the Chiefs, who were awarded the first-round bye and home-field advantage as the top seed in the AFC. The winner of the game will go on to face the winner of the Bills vs Baltimore Ravens game in the Conference Championship.
