These players haven’t been as impactful as fans had hoped for.
The Buffalo Bills are kicking off their holiday season on a great note after defeating the New England Patriots this past Sunday. However, it wasn’t the prettiest of wins but nonetheless, a win is a win. Now they will be back in Orchard Park again this coming Sunday to take on Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets.
Players like Josh Allen, James Cook and Greg Rousseau have had fantastic seasons and they have earned themselves a spot on the Bills’ nice list for this Christmas. That is not the case with some players. Which players land on the Bills’ naughty list this Christmas?
TE Dalton Kincaid
When the Bills traded Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans back in April, that move made it seem like the second-year tight end was going to have a breakout season as Josh Allen’s number one target. That couldn’t be further from the truth.
Kincaid has missed time this season with a knee injury he suffered in Week 10, but before then, he wasn’t exactly the biggest threat on the field. Even though he is second in targets only behind Khalil Shakir, he still hasn’t even eclipsed 500 receiving yards this season. He has not had a game higher than 53 receiving yards and he’s on pace to be statistically worse this season than his rookie year.
LB Baylon Spector
With the numerous amount of injuries the Bills’ defense has had throughout this season, fans have seen Baylon Spector take the field for Buffalo and it is not pretty to watch. He hasn’t been anything more than a rotational player for the Bills but the next man up mentality hasn’t worked when No. 54 goes onto the field.
If you watched Bills games this season, Spector heavily struggles in pass coverage and you can just tell he doesn’t have the talent that Matt Milano and Terrel Bernard have. To make matters worse, Spector suffered a calf injury in Week 16 in which Sean McDermott said he will be week-to-week, per Matt Parrino.
DT Ed Oliver
The Bills’ defensive line has been a libility all season long and it starts with Ed Oliver. After getting a massive 4-year, $68 million contract extension going into last season, Oliver had a career year with the Bills. This season has been the complete opposite for him.
He was playing so badly that his own defensive coordinator, Bobby Babich, called him out after the Bills’ Week 14 loss against the Los Angeles Rams. His best game of the year came against the Detroit Lions, generating ten pressures on Jared Goff and basically being in the backfield almost every other play. Other than that, Oliver has not been productive this year whatsoever.
He is on pace for a season-low in total tackles, tackles for loss, and sacks. Oliver has a lot to prove over these two weeks and in the playoffs to Bills fans.
